RAMNAGAR, Sep 5: Government Degree College Ramnagar celebrated Teachers’ Day with enthusiasm and reverence to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, renowned philosopher, educationist and former President of India. The event was held under the patronage of the worthy Principal, Prof. Daljeet Singh Manhas.
The event was organised by the NSS Unit of GDC Ramnagar and smoothly coordinated by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, NSS Programme Officer. Faculty members and students participated in the celebrations with enthusiasm and expressed their gratitude towards the teaching fraternity.
On the occasion, students highlighted the significance of Teachers’ Day and the vital role of teachers in shaping the academic, moral and intellectual development of students. The importance of teachers in nurturing responsible citizens, fostering critical thinking and guiding the younger generation towards a meaningful future was also emphasised.
The celebrations also featured several playful and engaging activities performed by the faculty members, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere on the occasion. The activities provided an opportunity for the faculty to showcase their fun-loving spirit, interact informally and add warmth and enjoyment to the Teachers’ Day celebrations.
The celebration provided students an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication, guidance and continuous support of their teachers.
The Acting Principal, Dr. Ashni Devi, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit, faculty members and students in making the occasion meaningful and memorable. She highlighted that teaching is not merely a profession but a noble responsibility that contributes significantly to the development of individuals and society.
Dr. Pankaj Sharma also addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Teachers’ Day, emphasising the enduring role of teachers in guiding students, nurturing their potential and contributing towards the creation of a responsible and enlightened society.
The programme was conducted by Mansi Sharma, NSS Volunteer, who served as the Stage Secretary and smoothly coordinated the proceedings.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Joginder Paul, NSS Volunteer, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, NSS Unit and students for their participation and contribution towards making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
