Experts highlight International scholarships, affordable education, admission procedures and global career prospects
R.S. PURA, Oct 30: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College (GDC), R.S. Pura, organised a Global Education Awareness Programme in collaboration with Education Abroad & Allied Services, Jammu, to familiarise students with international higher education opportunities, scholarships, career prospects and emerging global educational trends.
The programme aimed to broaden students’ academic horizons by providing guidance on higher education opportunities in countries such as Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and Australia.
The resource persons, Ritu Aggarwal, Founder and Global Education Advisor, and Vinay Kamal, Co-Founder and International Career Advisor, Education Abroad & Allied Services, shared valuable insights into various aspects of pursuing higher education abroad. They highlighted the importance of selecting appropriate courses and universities, exploring scholarship opportunities, understanding admission procedures, fulfilling visa requirements and planning finances for overseas education.
During the interactive session, special emphasis was laid on affordable and tuition-free education opportunities, particularly in European countries. The experts also discussed emerging career prospects in Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare and Education, along with post-study employment opportunities and international skill requirements.
College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour appreciated the initiative taken by the Career Counselling Cell and emphasised the importance of organising such programmes to enhance students’ awareness of global educational opportunities and prepare them to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive world.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sudesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, who highlighted the role of career counselling in empowering students to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, during which students and faculty members raised queries regarding international admissions, scholarships, educational expenses, visa procedures and career opportunities abroad. The resource persons addressed their concerns and provided practical guidance.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Neeru Sawhney, Convener, Career Counselling Cell, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, college administration, faculty members and students for their participation.
The initiative reflected GDC R.S. Pura’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, career awareness and global educational exposure among students.
