MAHANPUR, Aug 19: Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur organised a Brain Break Session as part of its continued efforts to promote physical activity, mental refreshment and holistic well-being among students. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with Global Community Health (GCH), USA, under the ongoing Brain Break Project.

The programme was organised under the patronage of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan, and coordinated by Prof. Binti Sharma, HOD Physics.

The Brain Break initiative was introduced at GDC Mahanpur on 29 August 2024, on the occasion of National Sports Day, with the initiative of Prof. (Dr.) Ming-Kai Chin, President and Founder, GCH, and Dr. Jogbinder Singh Soodan, former Physical Director of the College.

Addressing the participants, Prof. Binti Sharma emphasised the importance of incorporating short physical-activity breaks into the academic routine. She highlighted that such activities help students refresh their minds, reduce stress, improve concentration and contribute towards a healthier and more positive learning environment.

During the session, faculty members and students actively participated in the Brain Break activities. The energetic and engaging session provided students with an opportunity to move away from prolonged sitting and refresh themselves through simple physical activities. More than 50 students from different semesters participated enthusiastically in the session.

The session received an encouraging response from both students and faculty members, who appreciated Brain Breaks as an effective stress-busting and wellness activity within the college environment.

The College reiterated its commitment to continuing such initiatives for promoting health, fitness, mental well-being and a vibrant campus environment.
