DARHAL, Sep 17: Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal today organized a Mega Registration Drive for the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) to facilitate maximum registration of eligible students on the PM-NAPS Portal.
The programme was organized under the patronage of Principal, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, in compliance with the directions issued for conducting the Mega Registration Drive on 17 September 2026. The drive focused on ensuring that eligible students complete their registration on the portal along with the requisite KYC verification.
During the drive, students were guided through the registration process and made aware of the benefits and opportunities available through the apprenticeship programme. Special emphasis was laid on completing the students’ profiles and KYC verification on the PM-NAPS Portal so that they can avail themselves of apprenticeship opportunities with eligible establishments.
The college also ensured active participation of students in the registration activity. Geo-tagged photographs of the drive were taken as evidence of the activity conducted at the institution, as required by the competent authorities.
Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza stressed the importance of apprenticeship opportunities in providing students with practical exposure, workplace experience and enhanced employability. He directed the concerned faculty and staff to extend every possible assistance to students in completing their registration and KYC verification.
The programme witnessed the gracious presence and participation of faculty members including Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseem Ahmed and Prof Anzar Ahmed
The initiative assumes significance in view of the ongoing efforts of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to strengthen implementation of NAPS. The Directorate of Skill Development, J&K, is also monitoring NAPS-related activities and registration under the scheme.
The Mega Registration Drive at GDC Darhal reflects the college’s commitment towards connecting students with skill-development, apprenticeship and employment-oriented opportunities.
