GCW Udhampur organizes Financial and Digital Literacy Camp

UDHAMPUR, Aug 18: A Financial and Digital Literacy Camp was organized for the students at Government College for Women(GCW), Udhampur, in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Gramin Bank . The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about banking services, digital banking, government schemes, savings, and safe financial practices.

The Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Representing Jammu & Kashmir Gramin Bank, Sumit Bharti, Business Development Officer, Vijay Kumar, Branch Manager, Udhampur Branch, and officials from the Financial Inclusion Department provided the students with important information related to banking services.

The students were informed about maintaining bank accounts, government and social security schemes, various avenues of savings, and the benefits of digital transactions. Special emphasis was laid on preventing digital fraud and ensuring safe online banking practices.

The students were encouraged to become financially aware and responsible.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania expressed her gratitude to Jammu & Kashmir Gramin Bank and urged the students to take advantage of government welfare schemes and develop the habit of saving and responsible financial management from an early age.

On the occasion, 150 students of the College participated in the programme. Refreshments were also distributed by the bank among the participating students.

The programme was conducted by Prof. Sunil Mangotra and Dr. Nancy Gupta. Dr. Monica Gupta, Prof. Neha Gupta, Dr. Madhavi Bhardwaj, Dr. Kusha Sharma, Prof. Meenakshi Jamwal, Prof. Simran Khajuria, Dr. Ujjwal Manhas, and Prof. Safeena Chaudhary, along with other faculty members, were also present on the occasion.

The programme concluded with an interactive session in which the students asked questions related to banking services, savings, digital transactions, and government schemes. The bank officials addressed their queries and provided detailed information.
