GCET Jammu celebrates 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Aug 15: Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and a deep sense of pride. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Faculty members, staff and students participated in the ceremony, paying tribute to the freedom fighters and national heroes whose sacrifices paved the way for India’s independence.

Addressing the gathering the Principal of the college Prof. Sameeru Sharma highlighted the significance of Independence Day and called upon the students to contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of the nation. They emphasized the values of unity, integrity, discipline, innovation and responsible citizenship, urging the young generation to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The event featured a range of patriotic songs and poems presented by students and staff reflecting the rich cultural heritage and spirit of unity in diversity. The performances created an atmosphere of pride and patriotism across the campus.

The celebration also provided an opportunity for the GCET Jammu community to reaffirm its commitment towards academic excellence, technological advancement and nation-building. The faculty and students pledged to work collectively towards building a stronger, progressive and self-reliant India.

The programme concluded with a message of gratitude to the freedom fighters and armed forces, along with renewed determination to uphold the dignity and sovereignty of the nation.

GCET Jammu extends warm greetings to all citizens on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day and reiterates its commitment to nurturing responsible, skilled and patriotic young citizens dedicated to the service of the nation.
