JAMMU, Sep 10: Taking a strong stance against the persistent terror threats targeting Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley, Manish Sahni, President of Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir, has demanded that the Government immediately guarantee the safety and security of Kashmiri Hindus while issuing an unequivocal warning to terror outfits.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters, Sahni asserted that empty threats from terrorists cannot break the resolve of Kashmiri Hindus, affirming that every worker of the Balasaheb Thackeray-led party stands firmly behind them.
He noted that for over three and a half decades, the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits has largely remained confined to political rhetoric, while on-ground realities remain deeply alarming.
Raising serious concerns over the intelligence apparatus, Sahni stated that between August and September alone, the ‘United Liberation Council’ (ULC)—a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba—issued five separate threat letters and hit-lists, taking the tally of terror threats targeting employees to 37 since 2022.
He expressed grave alarm over the unauthorized leak of sensitive personal data belonging to nearly 7,000 Prime Minister’s Package employees from official files onto social media platforms, accompanied by direct ultimatums demanding they abandon the Valley.
“If this is not a monumental failure of the intelligence and administrative machinery, then what is?” Sahni asked.
“Why has the Cyber Cell failed to track down these digital terrorists circulating employee hit-lists in broad daylight? Why has there been no decisive technical or legal crackdown against the perpetrators?”
Shiv Sena (UBT) urged the Central Government and the Jammu & Kashmir administration to institute an immediate high-level inquiry into the data breach, direct the Cyber Cell to dismantle online terror networks and apprehend their Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and conduct a comprehensive security audit for all vulnerable employees deployed in the Valley.
On this occasion Sanjeev Kohli (working president) , Sanjay Bhatt (Gen Secretary (Org)), Aditya Mahajan (vice president) were present.
