JAMMU, Oct 16: Ph.D. holder Dr. Jogbinder Singh Soodan has assumed charge as the Director of Department of Physical Education and Sports at Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu, constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu, bringing his experience and commitment to promoting sports and physical fitness in the academic sector.
The charge was assumed in the presence of Principal of the College, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Director Sports Cluster University, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Ramandeep Karalia, Tanpreet Singh Bagha, Prof Anuradha Choudhry and other faculty members of GCOE Jammu.
Dr. Soodan, son of Santokh Singh Soodan, previously served as the College Director of Physical Education and Sports at Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur, GDC Kathua and GDC Bani in Kathua district, where he contributed to encouraging student participation in sports and physical activities.
His appointment marks another important step in his professional journey, reflecting his dedication to physical education and the development of sporting talent among young people.
With his academic qualifications and experience, he is expected to further strengthen sports activities and promote a culture of fitness, discipline and teamwork at the present institution.
Dr. Soodan believes that sports play a vital role in students’ overall development by building confidence, leadership qualities, resilience and a positive attitude.
