JAMMU, Oct 29: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu organised a Peer Educator Programme workshop on the theme “Bullying, Peer Pressure and Cyberbullying” to sensitise students to these pressing concerns and promote a culture of empathy, respect and responsible behaviour. The workshop aimed to help students understand the harmful effects of bullying, recognise the influence of peer pressure, and develop awareness about safe and responsible conduct in the digital world.
The programme commenced with an opening session, followed by the screening of an animated video on bullying, which highlighted its emotional and social impact on individuals. The video served as an engaging introduction to the theme and encouraged students to reflect on the importance of kindness, inclusion and standing against all forms of bullying.
The workshop was conducted with the active participation of student leaders from different classes. The Outreach Ambassadors of Class XII, Faiza Malik and Rabbani Malik, delivered an informative presentation on the subject, addressing the various forms of bullying, the challenges associated with peer pressure, and the consequences of cyberbullying.
The Learning Content Curators of Class XI, Deeshwari Sharma and Mohd. Mateen, compered the programme and ensured a smooth transition between its different segments. The Youth Members of Class IX, Farikha Rabbani and Aryavansh Sharma, assisted in guiding and engaging the students throughout the workshop.
A highlight of the programme was a thought-provoking skit that portrayed real-life situations involving bullying and its impact on the victim.
Through their performances, the students emphasised the importance of empathy, friendship, parental guidance and timely intervention. Aayat portrayed the victim, Devina played the victim’s friend, Riddham enacted the bully, Manraj played the bully’s friend, Hooriya portrayed the teacher, and Sharanya played the mother. The skit conveyed a powerful message that bullying should never be ignored and that every student has a role to play in creating a safe and supportive environment.
The workshop provided students with valuable insights into recognising bullying, resisting negative peer influence, and responding responsibly to cyberbullying. It reinforced the importance of speaking up, seeking help from trusted adults, respecting individual differences and extending support to those facing difficult situations. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking the culmination of an informative and meaningful initiative.
The management of DPS Jammu, comprising Ajatshatru Singh (President, RCT), Dr. Ritu Singh (Pro-Vice Chairperson), and S. S. Sodhi (Director), along with Ruchi Chabra (Principal) and the staff, appreciated the efforts of the student organisers and participants in conducting the workshop and spreading awareness about issues that significantly affect students’ well-being.
