UDHAMPUR, Aug 12:  Under the guidance of Chairman, Kalpana Revo, (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) Udhampur and overall supervision of Secretary, Sumati Sharma, District Legal Services Authority Udhampur. DLSA Udhampur conducted an awareness programme on the occasion of International Youth Day 2026 at Happy Model School, Udhampur, focusing on empowering young minds through legal literacy and civic engagement.

The event, held under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”, aimed to highlight the shared hopes of youth across diverse backgrounds while underscoring the importance of their active participation in societal development.

The resource person of the programme was Adv. Sanjeet Kumar Bavouria, Panel Lawyer of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur and PLVs of DLSA Udhampur namely Brahmanand, Anuj Gupta and Rakesh Singh were assisted in the smooth conduct of the programme.

The resource person was emphasized the role of legal awareness in shaping responsible citizens and encouraged students to understand their rights and duties under the Indian Constitution. He interacted with the students, addressing their queries on legal aid, juvenile justice, and educational rights.

The event was graced by Sumati Sharma, Sub-Judge/Secretary of DLSA Udhampur, who shared her views on the significance of youth engagement in nation-building. She highlighted DLSA’s ongoing initiatives to extend free legal aid to marginalized sections and urged students to become ambassadors of legal awareness in their communities.

Students from various classes actively participated in discussions, quizzes, and interactive sessions, reflecting enthusiasm and curiosity about legal and civic issues. The school administration expressed gratitude to DLSA Udhampur for collaborating in this meaningful initiative, noting its alignment with the school’s mission of holistic development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a pledge by students to uphold constitutional values and contribute positively to society.
