Dimple offers Eid-ul-Adha prayers, seeks restoration of J&K Statehood, Article 370

JAMMU, May 27: Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir, celebrated Eid-ul-Adha with the Muslim community and offered prayers at Eidgah Residency Road and Masjid Khadika Talab, Jammu, praying for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir statehood, Article 370, peace, happiness, progress and prosperity in the Union Territory.

Dimple joined Muslim devotees during Eid prayers and distributed sweets while extending greetings to the community on the auspicious occasion. He received a warm welcome from the people, who raised slogans of “Hindostan Zindabad” at Eidgah Residency Road and Masjid Khadika Talab.

Addressing large gatherings, Sunil Dimple praised members of the Muslim community for what he termed a noble announcement to boycott cow slaughter in future and support the demand for declaring the cow as the national animal of India. He said several Muslims across the country have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Central Government to impose a ban on cow slaughter in India.

Dimple said the “ball is now in the BJP’s court” regarding the declaration of the cow as a national animal and implementation of a ban on cow slaughter.

During the Eid prayers, Dimple also appealed for communal harmony, brotherhood and unity among all religions in Jammu and Kashmir and across India. He said people of all communities should work together for peace and development.

He strongly condemned the demolition drive at Sidhra and demanded a judicial, time-bound inquiry into the matter. He urged the government to rebuild the demolished houses of tribal Gujjar families and provide immediate relief to affected women and children, alleging that many families were forced to remain in the open amid extreme summer temperatures.

Dimple also appreciated the elaborate security arrangements made for the peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Adha across Jammu region and Jammu and Kashmir. He praised the efforts of Jammu Police, Traffic Police and intelligence agencies for maintaining law and order during the festivities.

Among others present were Shabier Khan, Rafiq Ahmad, Mosin Khan, Haneef Chowder, Malik Hussain, Babu Hussain and several prominent members of the community.
