JAMMU, Aug 5: Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DFSS) on Wednesday staged a protest rally in Jammu city, demanding strict action against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti over the alleged display of the National Flag in an inverted position, claiming it amounted to a violation of the Flag Code of India.
The protest was led by DFSS President Ashok Gupta, who, along with party activists, marched through the city raising slogans in support of the National Tricolour and calling for legal action if any violation of the Flag Code is established.
Addressing the protesters, Gupta described the alleged incident as a matter of serious concern, stating that the Indian National Flag is the supreme symbol of the country’s unity, sovereignty and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters and members of the armed forces.
“The Tricolour is the pride of every Indian, and every citizen, irrespective of political affiliation or position, has a constitutional and moral responsibility to ensure that it is displayed with the dignity and respect it deserves,” Gupta said.
The Front leaders alleged that displaying the National Flag upside down amounted to disrespect towards the Tricolour and urged the administration to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into the matter.
They demanded that if the inquiry establishes any violation of the Flag Code of India or other applicable legal provisions, strict action should be taken without fear or favour.
Gupta further asserted that no individual should be considered above the law and said preserving the sanctity of the National Flag was a collective responsibility. He appealed to political parties, elected representatives and the public to exercise utmost caution while displaying the Tricolour and to uphold the values of patriotism, national unity and constitutional respect associated with it.
The protest concluded with participants raising patriotic slogans and reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding the honour and dignity of the National Flag.
Among those present during the demonstration were Abhishek, Bittu, Ganesh, Bantu, Prem, Kalu, Rampal, Naresh, Ram and several other Shiv Sena Dogra Front activists.
