Department of B.Com and BBA of GDC Kathua organizes awareness lecture on cyber security

KATHUA, Aug 24: The Departments of B.Com and BBA, Government Degree College Kathua, organized an awareness lecture on “Cyber Security: Stay Safe in Digital World” to sensitize students about cyber threats and promote safe and responsible digital practices under youth engagement program.

The whole program was organized under the guidance of worthy principal, Dr. Manohar Lal and coordinated by the faculty members of B.Com and BBA specifically Dr. Pinkey, Prof. Charandeep Handa, CA (Dr.) Rahul Gupta, Prof. Manisha, Dr. Meenakshi Nargotra, Dr. Tejeshwar Singh, Lect. Ajay Sharma and Lect. Rohit Sharma.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Pinkey, Head, Department of Commerce, who highlighted the growing importance of cyber awareness in the digital age.

Amit Sharma, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & IT, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, was the resource person. He delivered an engaging and informative session on online frauds, cyber threats, protection of personal data, safe social media practices and effective ways to stay secure online. Students participated enthusiastically in the interactive session.

Sanjay Karlupia, the senior most faculty member in the college appreciated the initiative and emphasized that awareness and vigilance are the first line of defence against cybercrime. He urged students to adopt responsible digital practices and spread the message of cyber safety in the community. He also felicitated the resource person with a memento as a token of appreciation. Dr. Ram Singh, Head Department of Education and Dr. Pratiyogita  from the Department of Political Science also graced this occasion with their benign presence.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Meenakshi Nargotra, Head, Department of BBA.
