DC Udhampur inaugurates two-day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme at GHSS Tikri

UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: In a significant move to bring government flagship schemes to the doorsteps of the common man, a comprehensive two-day Photo Exhibition on Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita was formally inaugurated today at Government Higher Secondary School, Tikri by Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Minga Sherpa, the Chief Guest of the Function.

The event organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office Udhampur serves as a vibrant platform to educate, empower and aware the local citizens regarding the menace of Drug Addiction and importance of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita.

During his visit, the Chief Guest meticulously inspected the Photo Exhibition. To symbolize the commitment to a “Green India,” CBC organizers presented a plant sapling to the Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Minga Sherpa and the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Monika Karlupia, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Tikri.

In an impassioned address, the Chief Guest underscored that the primary thrust of this Photo Exhibition is on Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. He lauded the efforts of the CBC for bringing this information directly to the people.  He was of the view that drug addiction not only damages an individual but also affects their families socially, emotionally and economically.

Gurnam Singh, In-charge of the CBC Field Office Udhampur, delivered the welcome address. He provided a brief yet comprehensive overview of the department’s role, stating that “The Central Bureau of Communication acts as the vital bridge between policy-makers and the masses at grassroots.

Monika Karlupia, Principal of the Institute while her address spoke on various ill effects of Drug addiction and also praised the replacement of old judicial laws by New Three Criminal Laws.  She also thanked the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India for selecting their Institute for this noble cause.

The session featured high-value Expert lecture on Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita by Advocate Nikhileshwar Singh.  In his address he spoke in depth on New Three Criminal laws. He was of the view that these new laws are easily accessible and are in approach of every one by induction of digital mediums like e FIR and Zero FIR.

PSI Mohit Sharma from Police department delivered a key note address as a Resource Person on Nasha Mukt Bharat.  He strongly advocated the participation of public in awareness initiatives, counseling of addict persons and rehabilitation will play a pivotal role in curbing the bad effects of Drug addiction from the society. He also urged the youth to adopt healthy life style, participate in various sports activities to keep themselves safe from such bad practices.

Painting Competition on Nasha Mukt Bharat, Theme based songs by empanelled artists of Central Bureau of Communication, Skit by the students of Government Middle School, Bassani and an Open Quiz on Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita were the other features of first day’s programme.
