JAMMU, Jul 10: Senior BJP leader and former Sarpanch Adv. Devraj Sharma has called for stringent legal action against individuals and organisations found involved in fraudulent registration practices related to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, saying that such activities not only exploit the faith of devotees but also pose a serious threat to the security and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
In a statement issued here, Adv. Sharma urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, the Civil Administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police and all concerned departments to maintain close coordination and heightened vigilance to ensure transparent registration, effective crowd management and the safety of lakhs of pilgrims undertaking the sacred Yatra.
He stressed that any attempt to forge registration documents, manipulate the registration process or mislead pilgrims must be dealt with firmly under the law. Such fraudulent activities, he said, undermine public confidence and create unnecessary inconvenience for genuine devotees besides compromising security protocols.
Adv. Sharma appreciated the extensive arrangements made by the administration and security agencies for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and said that these efforts must be complemented by constant monitoring of the registration mechanism to prevent unscrupulous elements from exploiting unsuspecting pilgrims.
He further emphasized the need for real-time coordination among all stakeholder departments to ensure hassle-free registration, efficient crowd regulation, prompt grievance redressal and timely dissemination of authentic information and advisories throughout the Yatra. He said pilgrims should receive regular updates regarding registration procedures, weather conditions, traffic movement, accommodation, medical facilities and other essential services through official communication channels.
The senior BJP leader expressed confidence that under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the administration would continue to uphold the highest standards of security, transparency and public service, ensuring that every devotee is able to undertake the holy pilgrimage with faith, dignity and confidence.
Adv. Sharma also appealed to pilgrims to rely only on authorised registration centres and official communication channels for all Yatra-related information and to immediately report any suspicious or fraudulent activity to the concerned authorities so that strict legal action can be initiated against the culprits.
