JAMMU, Jun 20: A distinguished delegation of the Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu, led by its President and former Director General of Police J&K, Kuldeep Khoda, visited the Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram) at Amphalla on Saturday and appreciated the institution’s efforts in providing care, protection and dignity to senior citizens.
The delegation included Vice President Dr. Sudarshan Kumar, General Secretary K.B. Jandial, Treasurer O.P. Sharma, K.L. Sharma, V.K. Sambyal, Nisar Ahmed, V.K. Padha and several other members of the Association.
The guests were warmly received by the management and residents of the Home.
Welcoming the delegation, President of the Home, Pankaj Gupta highlighted the institution’s commitment to ensuring a secure and dignified life for elderly citizens. A documentary film showcasing the facilities and welfare activities of the Home was screened on the occasion.
Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary of the Home, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the institution’s achievements, infrastructure development works, welfare initiatives and future projects being undertaken with public support.
Former Director General of Police Dr. Ashok Bhan, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the values of humanity, compassion and social responsibility. He appreciated the dedicated efforts being made by the Home in serving elderly citizens and stressed the importance of respecting and caring for senior members of society.
A colourful cultural programme presented by artists of the Department of Information and Public Relations added vibrancy to the event. The visiting dignitaries also interacted with residents and commended the cleanliness, management and caring environment maintained at the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuldeep Khoda lauded the Home for its exemplary humanitarian service and called for collective efforts to ensure dignity, security and quality of life for senior citizens.
As a gesture of support, the Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association donated ₹11,000 for the welfare of residents, while Kuldeep Khoda personally contributed ₹5,000. The Home management also presented mementos to the visiting delegation in recognition of their distinguished service and support.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sat Pal Sharma, followed by a group photograph, a visit to various wings of the Home and refreshments.
