JAMMU, Aug 12: The Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu, was filled with patriotism, music, happiness and emotional warmth as the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) presented special performances for the elderly residents as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
A special performance by the BSF Frontier Band was organised at the Home on Tuesday, 11th August 2026 at 4:30 P.M. The magnificent band presented a beautiful selection of patriotic songs and musical compositions, creating an atmosphere of pride, enthusiasm and national spirit across the Home. The performance was exceptionally well presented and deeply touched the hearts of the elderly residents.
The residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance and participated with great enthusiasm, clapping along with the music, singing patriotic songs and expressing their happiness at witnessing such a wonderful presentation by the BSF personnel. The powerful presence of the uniformed personnel and the soulful rendition of patriotic melodies made the occasion particularly memorable for the residents. For many of them, the programme was not merely a musical performance but an emotional reminder of the dedication, courage and sacrifices of the men and women who serve the nation.
The celebrations continued on Wednesday, 12th August 2026, with a special performance by a CRPF team at the Home. The team presented an engaging and lively programme which brought further joy and excitement to the residents. The CRPF personnel interacted warmly with the elderly and their performance was greatly appreciated by everyone present.
The Management of the Home expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the BSF and CRPF for making the Independence Day celebrations so meaningful for the residents. He said that for elderly persons living in an institutional setting, occasions such as these carry a special emotional significance as they provide an opportunity to feel connected with the community and participate in the celebrations of the nation.
The programme was attended and supported by the members of the Managing Committee of the Home namely Er. Pankaj Gupta, President, Dr.Dinesh Gupta, Secretary, Er. Vijay Gupta, Joint Secretary; Rattandeep Singh Anand, Rajinder Singh; Satpal Sharma; Vijay Dhawan, Sudha Gupta, Committee Members & Dr. B.B. Sharma, Ex CMO and I/c of the Dispensary in Home along with Vinod Kumar, Suman Langeh, Pritam Chand, Raghav Gupta, Officials, Surinder Singh, Jyoti Devi & Omkar Arya, Care-Takers. Their presence added to the warmth and significance of the celebrations.
