JAMMU, Sep 1: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Joint Secretary, Central Zone, M.K. Rana, has strongly criticised the BJP-led Central Government for what he described as its failure to fulfil its promises of development and provide relief to the common people.

Addressing a meeting  yesterday last night at Panchayat Mathwar, Block Mathwar, Rana said that the people are bearing the brunt of inflation and the rising prices of essential commodities, including sugar and onions. He said that despite repeated promises, the BJP Government has failed to control prices and provide meaningful relief to ordinary households.

Rana highlighted the development initiatives of the Omar Abdullah-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the government is committed to accelerating development and strengthening basic facilities for the people.

He said priority is being given to essential services such as drinking water, electricity, healthcare, schools and colleges, with the objective of improving the quality of life at the grassroots level.

During the meeting, residents of Desh Bandhu Gorh, Keri Mohalla, Ward No. 4, apprised Rana of the poor condition of the local road. They said the damaged road is causing considerable inconvenience to residents, commuters and other people using the route.

Rana listened to the grievances of the residents and assured them that he would take up the matter with the concerned Minister and authorities and seek an early resolution.

Rana reiterated that the National Conference remains committed to addressing genuine public grievances and strengthening development at the grassroots level. He urged the concerned departments to take immediate steps to improve the condition of the road and ensure better civic amenities for the people of the area.
