BJP’s ‘Kashmir Chalo’ call will strengthen democracy, reject NC’s politics: Priya Sethi

JAMMU, Jul 18: Senior BJP leader and former minister Priya Sethi extended a warm welcome to devotees and members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Sant Samaj visiting Jammu & Kashmir during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra, describing their presence as a blessing for the Union Territory.

Mukesh Kumar, Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was the special guest on the occasion.

Addressing a gathering of Sant Samaj after serving Langar to them at Ram Mandir Jammu, Priya Sethi said that Jammu & Kashmir is the sacred land where both Lord Shiva and Shakti reside, making it a spiritually significant destination for devotees from across the country. She said the arrival of saints and pilgrims from different states and regions brings divine blessings to the entire region and strengthens the spiritual atmosphere.

“Jammu & Kashmir is the abode of both Shiva and Shakti. When devotees and saints from across the country visit this sacred land, their presence blesses the entire region. Every year, your arrival spreads positivity, faith and spiritual energy across this holy land,” Sethi said.

She observed that while disruptive forces have often attempted to disturb peace and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir, the continued participation of the Sant Samaj and devotees in the Amarnath Yatra reinforces the values of unity, faith and national integration.

Priya Sethi also expressed gratitude to the organisers, particularly Rameshwar Dass Ji Mahant Ram Mandir for the comprehensive arrangements made for medical assistance, accommodation, food and other essential facilities, noting that such efforts require immense dedication and meticulous planning.

“It is easy to speak about arrangements, but only those who organise such large-scale services understand the commitment and hard work involved. I sincerely congratulate everyone associated with this noble service,” she added.

Sethi urged everyone to remain united in preserving Sanatan values and supporting the sacred pilgrimage, before joining devotees in chanting devotional slogans of “Bam Bam Bhole”, filling the venue with spiritual fervour.

Addressing pilgrms, Mukesh Kumar extended his heartfelt greetings to all devotees undertaking the sacred Shri Amarnath Yatra, describing the pilgrimage as a symbol of unwavering faith, devotion and national unity.

He said the annual yatra brings together people from every corner of the country, strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s rich spiritual heritage.

RSS leader urged the pilgrims to follow all safety guidelines, maintain the sanctity and cleanliness of the holy shrine, and cooperate with the administration for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, security forces, volunteers and local residents in ensuring a safe, comfortable and memorable pilgrimage for the devotees, and prayed to Lord Shiva to bless everyone with peace, good health and prosperity.

Priya Sethi, while briefing the media after a programme, strongly defended the BJP’s ‘Kashmir Chalo’ campaign and launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC), accusing it of misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir for decades.

Addressing reporters, Priya Sethi said the BJP’s “Kashmir Chalo” call is aimed at strengthening national unity, promoting peace and reinforcing the spirit of integration in the Union Territory. She alleged that the NC has repeatedly attempted to create confusion among the people on issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

“The BJP’s ‘Kashmir Chalo’ campaign is a call for unity, development and national integration. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have seen through the politics of deception, and no party can mislead them any longer,” Priya Sethi said.

She added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development, improved security and greater opportunities for youth. She urged people to support initiatives that promote peace, progress and inclusive growth.

Priya Sethi called upon the people to reject divisive politics and support efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace, prosperity and national unity in Jammu and Kashmir.
