JAMMU, Jun 20: BJP OBC Morcha intensified its Swachhata Abhiyan across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir with active participation from senior party leaders, who called upon citizens to make cleanliness a way of life and contribute towards a cleaner and healthier society.
The cleanliness drives were organised under the banner of the “12 Saal Bemisaal” campaign, highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government over the past twelve years and reinforcing the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
In Budgam district, a large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted around Behiste Zahara Park near the DC Office and BJP Karyalaya following an interaction with local traders. BJP State Vice President Rajeev Charak attended as the chief guest and stressed the importance of community participation in maintaining public hygiene. Several BJP leaders and workers participated in the programme and actively cleaned public spaces to spread awareness about civic responsibility.
In Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar area, BJP OBC Morcha workers carried out a cleanliness drive in Ward No. 14 under the leadership of Arun Mehra, Vice President OBC Morcha. The participants cleaned public areas and appealed to local residents to support cleanliness initiatives in their neighbourhoods.
A similar Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organised in Rajpora constituency of Pulwama district under the supervision of District General Secretary OBC Morcha Gh. Mohidin Najar. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, volunteers and local residents, who pledged to maintain sanitation and environmental cleanliness.
In Samba district’s Nad Mandal, BJP OBC Morcha organised a cleanliness programme in which State Vice President Rashpal Verma participated as the chief guest. Accompanied by district and mandal leaders, Verma emphasized that cleanliness is a shared social responsibility and urged people to actively support the Swachh Bharat Mission.
A major cleanliness drive was also held at Shaheed Rajeshwar Singh Chowk in Ramnagar. BJP OBC Morcha State President Braham Jyot Satti, along with MLA Ramnagar Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj and other senior leaders, participated in the campaign. Dr. Bhardwaj appreciated the Morcha’s efforts in spreading awareness at the grassroots level and encouraged youth to become active partners in maintaining cleanliness in their localities.
Another cleanliness programme was organised at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park in Phinter, Billawar, where BJP leaders and workers joined local residents in cleaning public spaces and promoting environmental awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Charak said that cleanliness is not merely a government programme but a people’s movement that reflects civic responsibility and public consciousness. Rashpal Verma stated that the twelve years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership have been marked by development, good governance and public welfare, adding that cleanliness remains the foundation of a healthy society.
Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj said that public participation is essential for the success of social campaigns and that collective efforts can bring meaningful and lasting change. The leaders reiterated their commitment to carrying forward the message of cleanliness across Jammu and Kashmir and strengthening the vision of a clean and developed India.
