JAMMU, Nov 4: Jammu and Kashmir BJP Spokesperson, former Vice Chairman and follower of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidass Ji, Balbir Ram Rattan, presented his Hindi poetic composition ‘Mann Changa’ to BJP National Vice President Ram Madhav. The composition was released a few months ago. It was presented to Ram Madhav during his recent visit to Jammu in the presence of former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and BJP State General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan.
‘Mann Changa’ is an inspiring Hindi poem dedicated to Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidass Ji. It is based on his famous teaching, ‘Mann Changa To Kathauti Mein Ganga’, which means that if a person’s heart is pure, thoughts are good and intentions are honest, there is no need to visit any particular holy place to seek God’s blessings. True purity lies in a clean heart, honesty and good deeds.
This message highlights the importance of purity of mind, truthfulness and humanity rather than outward religious rituals and show. The poem explains in simple words that a person’s real identity is not determined by wealth, position, caste or outward appearance, but by thoughts, behaviour and actions.
Ram Madhav respectfully accepted the composition and said that spreading the teachings of great saints through literature and poetry is a commendable effort. Such literary works can help connect the younger generation with the country’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that Guru Ravidass Ji had, centuries ago, given society the message of love, equality, brotherhood and mutual respect. He opposed social evils such as discrimination, untouchability and divisions based on caste and social status, and inspired people to treat every human being with equality and dignity.
