JAMMU, May 24: One day long oncology conference was organised by the name of Milestones in oncology at Ragale Park, Jammu organised by Aashray cancer trust and American oncology institute ASCOMS.
It was attended by around 50 oncologist who had travelled to attend this mega conference.
Around 27 academic sessions and discussions took place in the field on Breast, GI, lung, Urology and head and neck cancers.
The conference by organised by Dr Satyanker Gupta who works as a senior medical oncologist at AOI Jammu.
The chief guest on the occasion was Dr Pavan Malhotra who stressed on the need of such conferences in Jammu so that our patients get the most benefit.
In total 27 academic sessions took place including panel discussions and debates.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr Shamit Chopra who came from Jalandhar and is an eminent Head and neck surgeon.
At the closing ceremony ,Life time achievement awards were given to Dr Anil gupta ex HOD medicine ASCOMS ,Dr Ajay Wakhloo ex HOD Gynaecology and obstetrics SMGS and Director Ankur Maitrika Jammu.
Dr Vinod Raina Director and HOD medical oncosciences former HOD AIIMS New Delhi was also honoured .
Finally Dr Suparno Chakrabarti Director Hematology and BMT services was also honoured with life time achievement award.
The awards were presented by Aashray Cancer Trust.
