UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: A meeting to review preparations for the upcoming 3rd National Lok Adalat, 2026 and to discuss the implementation of Mediation 3.0 was convened on Saturday in the Office Chambers of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Kalpana Revo, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Udhampur, and under the overall supervision of Sumati Sharma, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur.
Judicial Officers posted at the District Headquarters attended the meeting in person, while Judicial Officers posted at the Tehsil Headquarters of District Udhampur participated through virtual mode.
The Chairman emphasized ensuring a smooth and effective Lok Adalat and advancing Mediation 3.0. Discussions covered logistical and administrative arrangements, case identification and listing, and reviewed case-selection procedures. Directions were given to strengthen coordination among courts, DLSA staff, panel advocates, and administrative authorities.
Participants stressed outreach to litigants and advocates to secure participation and promote an accessible, cost-effective dispute-resolution mechanism.
The objectives and modalities of Mediation 3.0 were discussed, with guidance to identify and promptly refer suitable cases for mediation and to raise awareness among litigants and practitioners about mediation’s benefits.
The Principal District & Sessions Judge directed full cooperation, timely implementation of assigned tasks, coordinated action, and regular follow-up to ensure successful conduct of the Lok Adalat and effective roll-out of Mediation 3.0.
The meeting closed by reaffirming stakeholders’ collective responsibility to promote access to justice, facilitate amicable settlements, and expedite case disposal.
