REASI, May 15: An awareness lecture on “Saving Water” was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Dugga, on 15 May 2026, to sensitise students, teachers and locals about the growing concerns of water security and its impact on daily life.
The initiative aimed to educate the community on the importance of conserving water and adopting responsible water-use practices. Participants were encouraged to follow simple measures such as fixing leaking taps, avoiding wastage, using water judiciously and adopting rainwater harvesting wherever possible. Real-life examples were also shared to highlight how collective responsibility and disciplined usage can help preserve water for future generations.
The lecture witnessed active participation from 182 students and 26 teachers, along with local residents. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants showed keen interest and commitment towards water conservation.
The initiative reinforced the message that “Every Drop Counts” and that collective efforts are essential to ensure a sustainable and water-secure future. The participants appreciated the awareness programme and the practical measures highlighted during the event.
