POONCH, Nov 1: The Indian Army organised a motivational lecture on ‘How to Join the Defence Forces’ at Government High School Mohri Gursai in Poonch, on 01 November 2026. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 350 students and 25 teachers, reflecting keen interest among the youth in pursuing careers in the Defence Forces.
The initiative aimed to inspire students to consider careers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force while creating awareness about various recruitment opportunities. During the session, students were briefed on entry schemes, eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, physical fitness standards and selection procedures.
The speakers highlighted the importance of discipline, dedication, leadership, courage and patriotism in building successful careers. Students were encouraged to focus on academic excellence, physical fitness, sports and self-confidence while preparing for competitive examinations and recruitment processes.
The interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding career opportunities and life in the Defence Forces. Teachers appreciated the Indian Army’s initiative in providing valuable career guidance and motivating young minds.
