DODA, Oct 3: In continuation of its commitment towards the welfare and well-being of the local population, the Indian Army organised a Medical Camp and CSD Facility at Village Hambal, District Doda, Jammu & Kashmir on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The initiative aimed to extend essential healthcare services and facilitate access to CSD facilities, particularly for residents of remote and adjoining areas. The event received an encouraging response, with a total of 250 civilians participating and availing themselves of the facilities provided.
During the medical camp, beneficiaries underwent health check-ups and received medical consultations. Medical personnel assessed their health requirements, provided appropriate advice and sensitised them about preventive healthcare, healthy practices and the importance of timely medical consultation.
Alongside the medical services, a CSD facility was established at the venue to facilitate convenient access to essential items. The availability of medical and CSD facilities at a common location provided practical assistance to the beneficiaries and helped address their immediate requirements.
The event also provided an opportunity for the Indian Army personnel to interact with members of the local community and better understand their concerns and requirements. The enthusiastic participation reflected the strong engagement and goodwill between the Indian Army and the local population.
Organised on Gandhi Jayanti, the initiative embodied the values of service, compassion and community welfare. It further reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued commitment towards community outreach, welfare initiatives and strengthening the enduring bonds of trust, cooperation and mutual understanding with the people of the region.
