NAGROTA, Jun 30: As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Jammu & Kashmir and its sustained commitment towards building a healthy, aware and responsible society, the Indian Army organised an interactive awareness lecture on anti-drug abuse for Army personnel and their wards at Usman Auditorium, Nagrota. The programme aimed to educate participants about the harmful effects of abused substance while encouraging them to adopt a healthy, disciplined and purposeful lifestyle. The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from Army personnel, their children and family members. A specialist Army doctor conducted the lecture and highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction, emphasising the importance of early intervention, counselling and community support in preventing abused substance. Participants were also sensitised about the role of families, educational institutions and society in identifying vulnerable individuals and guiding them towards rehabilitation.
The interactive session encouraged participants to engage in meaningful discussions, seek clarifications and pledge to remain drug-free, while motivating others to make informed and responsible choices. The event concluded with a collective resolve to work together in creating a drug-free society and promoting a healthier future for the younger generation.
