POONCH, Oct 8: The Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on “Career Opportunities for Youth in the Defence Forces” at Marha, District Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir with the aim of empowering local youth and sensitising them about diverse career avenues available to them.
During the interaction, participants were briefed about various career opportunities in the Indian Defence Forces, government services, education, skill development and other professional fields. They were also informed about eligibility criteria, avenues for higher education, competitive examinations and opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session, during which participants actively engaged with the speakers and sought clarification on various career-related aspects. The initiative received an encouraging response from the local youth. A total of 49 participants, including 18 boys, 20 girls, 10 teachers and one lady helper, attended the event.
The Indian Army reiterated its commitment towards youth empowerment, capacity building and nation-building through such outreach initiatives, encouraging young people to pursue their aspirations, make informed career choices and contribute meaningfully towards the development of the nation.
