Army conducted awareness lecture on drug abuse at Bhart, Doda

DODA, Aug 30: As part of its ongoing efforts under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Indian Army organised an awareness lecture on drug abuse at Bhart, Doda on 29 August 2026. The initiative aimed to sensitize local youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a healthy, safe and drug-free environment within the community.

A total of 18 students, 07 teachers and 15 villagers participated in the awareness programme. During the session, participants were educated about the adverse impact of drug consumption on physical health, mental well-being and social life. Special emphasis was laid on the long-term consequences of addiction, including its effects on education, family relationships and future career prospects.

The lecture also covered the legal implications associated with drug abuse and highlighted preventive measures that can be adopted by individuals, parents and teachers to safeguard the younger generation. Interactive discussions and real-life examples encouraged active participation and reinforced the importance of staying away from substance abuse.

The local residents and students appreciated the Indian Army’s continued efforts towards youth empowerment and community welfare. The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at building a resilient, responsible and drug-free society through sustained engagement with local communities.
