KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference senior leader and spokesperson for the Chenab Valley Region, Ajeet Bhagat, accused BJP Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma of repeatedly attempting to destabilise the democratically elected government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Bhagat said that sustained political efforts had allegedly been made to force the resignation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and weaken the government, but these attempts had failed in the face of the mandate given by the people. He said that after failing to achieve their political objective, efforts were now being made to create confusion among the people of Jammu province instead of focusing on their genuine concerns.

The National Conference leader said that people in several districts of Jammu province, particularly Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban in the Chenab Valley, were looking for concrete solutions to their everyday problems. He claimed that the people had grown tired of slogans, accusations, political rhetoric, speeches and what he described as political spectacles and empty promises.

Bhagat said that educated unemployed youth were seeking meaningful employment opportunities, while people were demanding better roads, healthcare facilities, education, safety for girls in schools, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, improved governance, transparency and a fair resolution of their rights. He asserted that the public was no longer interested in political rhetoric or what he termed political drama.

He said that if BJP Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma was genuinely concerned about the problems of the people, he should come forward with concrete proposals and work towards practical solutions instead of using public issues for political gains. Bhagat maintained that it was not appropriate for a political leader to exploit the concerns of the people for political advantage.

Bhagat further said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly unemployed youth and economically weaker sections, were closely observing the actions of political leaders. He claimed that the public was increasingly able to distinguish between leaders who were genuinely working for people’s welfare and those who were merely making promises and engaging in political rhetoric.

He asserted that the people had become aware of the political situation and would judge the performance of different leaders on the basis of their work and commitment to public welfare. Bhagat said that the people’s mandate was supreme and that the political future of Jammu and Kashmir would ultimately be decided by the electorate.

He added that the people would deliver their verdict at the appropriate time and urged political leaders to focus on development, employment and public welfare rather than creating unnecessary political controversies.
