RAJOURI/POONCH, Jun 9: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukti Abhiyan and anti-drug awareness campaign, the Indian Army conducted awareness programmes on the theme “Say No to Drugs” at High School Gari, Rajouri, and Hill Kaka, Poonch.
The initiatives aimed to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy, disciplined and responsible lifestyle. During the sessions, Army personnel interacted with students and highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of substance abuse, including its impact on health, education, family life and society.
At High School Gari, informative wall posters and floaters carrying anti-drug messages were displayed across the school premises to reinforce the message and promote a drug-free environment. Students were also guided on resisting negative peer pressure, staying away from narcotics and making informed life choices.
The programmes received positive response from students and school staff, who appreciated the Indian Army’s efforts towards educating the younger generation. The initiative also strengthened Army–community bonds and supported the national vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
