JAMMU, May 13: The Jammu & Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Central Government over the cancellation of the NEET examination, calling it not merely an “administrative failure” but a “coordinated crime” against the future of crores of students across the country.
Addressing a press conference here, party State President Manish Sahni said that over the past two years, a disturbing and dangerous pattern of paper leaks has emerged across the country. Citing figures, Sahni said, “In the last 24 months, more than 15 major examinations in the country, including prestigious exams like UGC-NET and UP Police recruitment examinations, have fallen prey to corruption. The government hurriedly passed the ‘Public Examinations Act 2024’, but on the ground its fear is completely absent.”
Questioning the government’s capability, Sahni said that students and parents across the country are deeply angry and frustrated. “Is the government not even capable of conducting a secure and transparent examination? It is the government’s weak and indecisive approach that has emboldened the paper leak mafia,” he said.
Referring to Jammu & Kashmir, Sahni stated that more than 50,000 students from the Union Territory, who are already struggling under difficult geographical and social conditions, have been completely shattered by the decision. He said that for students dreaming of becoming doctors despite limited resources and hardships, the cancellation has come as a devastating blow.
Sahni demanded a fair investigation into the entire matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court of India and sought swift and strict legal action against all those involved in the paper leak racket to eliminate the “mafia raj” from the examination system.
He warned that if immediate action is not taken against the culprits and a transparent examination mechanism is not implemented, Shiv Sena will launch a massive public agitation from the streets to the legislature in support of students and youth.
