JAMMU, May 12: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban today held an important meeting and press conference regarding the ongoing “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (SSA) – Phase 2” at Congress office, Shaheedi Chowk Jammu. The programme was held under the leadership of former Minister and DCC Jammu Urban President Yogesh Sawhney and presided over by JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla.
Senior Congress leaders including former Ministers Mula Ram, Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Abdul Majid Wani, former MLC Ved Mahajan, office bearers, block presidents and party workers attended the meeting. Detailed discussions were held regarding strengthening the party organisation at booth, ward, mandal and block levels across Jammu Urban.
Addressing the media, Raman Bhalla said that strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level is the need of the hour and every Congress worker must actively participate in the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan with dedication and discipline. He stated that booth and ward-level workers are the backbone of the party and therefore the Congress leadership is committed to empowering active workers at every level.
Bhalla said that Congress has always raised issues concerning common people and a stronger organisational structure would further enhance the party’s ability to highlight public grievances effectively. He added that unemployment, inflation, inadequate civic facilities and rising public issues require a strong and responsive opposition connected with the masses.
PCC Coordinator Mula Ram described the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan as an important initiative aimed at energising party workers and strengthening coordination between the leadership and grassroots cadre. He said that strengthening booth, mandal and block committees would help the party expand its reach to every household and improve communication with the public.
Former Minister and DCC President Yogesh Sawhney said that the campaign is a determined effort to rebuild and strengthen the Congress organisation from the grassroots level. He stated that the objective is to identify committed and hardworking workers and assign them responsibilities at different organisational levels to make the party more active and people-oriented.
He further said that unity, discipline and coordination among workers would play a major role in making the campaign successful. Sawhney asserted that Congress remains committed to building a strong organisational structure capable of effectively raising public issues and maintaining direct connection with the masses across Jammu Urban.
Senior leaders Abdul Majid Wani and Gurbachan Kumari Rana also appealed to party workers to remain united and actively participate in the campaign to strengthen the Congress organisation in Jammu and Kashmir.
