KULGAM, Jun 23: Residents of Bonigam and adjoining areas have expressed serious concern over the worst condition of the Bonigam–Chowgam road, which has become a major cause of inconvenience for commuters and transporters.
Locals told Top News Correspondent J&K Gh Nabi khanday that the road is riddled with potholes, uneven stretches, and damaged surfaces, making travel difficult and unsafe. Drivers, in particular, are facing frequent vehicle damage and delays, while pedestrians are also struggling to move along the stretch.
The residents alleged that despite repeated requests, no significant repair work has been carried out, leading to growing frustration among the public. They said the condition of the road worsens further during bad weather, increasing the risk of accidents.
The residents have accused the authorities for not maintaining the road and showing apathy over this issue.
The locals have appealed to Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and higher authorities of concern department for redressal of the grievance.
