Dimple leads rally for liberation of PoK, Gilgit-Baltistan; demands scrapping of Indus Waters Treaty

JAMMU, Oct 26: Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir, on Monday led a protest rally along Janipur High Court Road, demanding the liberation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan. Protesters burnt Pakistani flags and raised slogans against Pakistan during the demonstration.

Addressing the gathering, Dimple urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive steps towards bringing PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan under Indian control, asserting that these territories were an integral part of India. He demanded that the areas be restored to Jammu and Kashmir and integrated with India.

Dimple also called upon the Union Government to completely scrap the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, arguing that a strong response was necessary in view of the security challenges and actions he attributed to Pakistan.

During the rally, Dimple accused Pakistan of committing atrocities against people in PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan and called for an end to violence and the killing of innocent civilians.

He also raised concerns over the alleged persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan, including Hindus and Sikhs. Referring to reports of forced religious conversions, abductions, forced marriages and sexual violence against minority women, he urged the international community and the Indian Government to take serious note of these issues.

Dimple appealed to the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and Defence Minister to adopt a firm approach towards Pakistan and raise their voice against alleged violence affecting Hindus, Muslims and Baloch people.

He expressed solidarity with people and organisations in PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan who, he claimed, were seeking freedom from Pakistan and wished to join India. He said their aspirations and concerns deserved greater attention.

Dimple also expressed concern over the alleged continued presence of terror modules, sleeper cells and ground workers in Jammu and Kashmir. He called for stronger security measures to identify and dismantle terror networks operating in the region.

Going further, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare war against Pakistan, stating that a decisive response was necessary to address the security challenges and alleged atrocities he highlighted.

The rally focused on demands for the restoration of PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan to India, the scrapping of the Indus Waters Treaty and stronger action against Pakistan over security concerns and the alleged mistreatment of minorities.

Senior leaders who participated in the protest included Nagender Chodhry, Baba Gupta, Happy Harpreet Singh, Dev Raj, Rakesh Sharma and Roky Kapoor, along with other party members and supporters.
