Healthy India Stronger India distributes free books, bags, stationery to needy students during Navratra

JAMMU, Oct 18: Healthy India Stronger India (HISI), a Jammu-based Non Government Organisation (NGO) led by its Chairman, Hira Lal Abrol, organised a free distribution camp for students during Navratra at the revered Bawe Wali Mata shrine in Jammu, providing books, notebooks, school bags and stationery to children in need.

The initiative aimed to encourage education and support students by making essential study materials available free of cost. Students from Class 1 to Class 10 visited the stall and selected books according to their educational requirements.

Speaking about the initiative, Hira Lal Abrol said that HISI regularly organises such camps whenever educational materials become available.

“The organisation works towards social welfare and provides free training and skill development opportunities to children and other beneficiaries,” he said.

Abrol explained that the distribution camps are organised at different locations in Jammu at regular intervals, depending on the availability of educational materials. The organisation has been making efforts to ensure that students receive the resources they need to continue their studies.

The stall witnessed a considerable response, with children selecting books of their choice. Along with books, the organisation also distributed notebooks, school bags and stationery to help students meet their basic educational needs.

The initiative was particularly significant during the auspicious occasion of Navratra, combining the spirit of service with the promotion of education. By allowing students to take the books they required without unnecessary restrictions, the organisation sought to make learning resources accessible to a wider section of society.

The organisation’s free distribution camp received appreciation for its focus on education and social service, reinforcing the message that supporting children’s learning is an important investment in a stronger and more educated society.

“Healthy India Stronger India is running Free Training Centre at Raghunath Pura for skill development of needy and poor children from BPL families. In addition to training in skill development, HISI equips its students with moral values and life skills, he said adding that students are motivated to live a healthy life and to stay away from tobacco and drugs.

“HISI has the vision to uplift the place of women in the society and make them self-reliant. Girls and women trainees of the NGO are trained in ‘Self Defence’,” he said.
