JAMMU, Oct 6: A free Liver Health and Diabetes Detection Camp was organised by Dr. Rajkumar Sharma at his residence in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, with the aim of creating awareness about the growing incidence of fatty liver, liver fibrosis and diabetes linked to changing lifestyles.
During the camp, participants were provided FibroScan liver health check-ups, including CAP Score assessment for fatty liver and LSM Score assessment for liver fibrosis, in collaboration with Zydus. Blood glucose screening was also conducted for early detection of diabetes.
More than 500 patients were examined during the camp, while around 500 beneficiaries availed themselves of health counselling, diet consultation and educational material related to liver and metabolic health.
Dr. Rajkumar Sharma counselled participants on the importance of a balanced diet, weight management, regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices for preventing and managing fatty liver and diabetes.
The camp received an encouraging response from local residents, with participants appreciating the initiative and requesting that similar health screening and awareness camps be organised regularly in the future.
