JAMMU, Oct 5: The Inter-District UT-Level Tournament in Football for Under-14 Boys, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, continued on its third day at Khel Gaon Nagrota and Sainik School Nagrota.
The tournament is being conducted under the patronage of Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, IAS, and under the guidance of Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Jammu Division, Inderjeet Singh (JKAS). The event is being held under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
The tournament has brought together young footballers from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir, providing them with a platform to showcase their football skills, talent and competitive spirit at the Union Territory level.
The department said the tournament aims to promote football among young athletes while providing them with valuable competitive exposure and experience. To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, various committees, including the Technical, Organising, Medical, Registration and Equipment Committees, have been constituted.
Results at Khel Gaon Nagrota: Ganderbal defeated Srinagar 4-1; Kathua defeated Doda 1-0; Bandipora defeated Udhampur 5-0; Pulwama defeated Poonch 2-0.
Results at Sainik School Nagrota: Anantnag defeated Rajouri 4-1; Budgam defeated Shopian 4-2; Kulgam defeated Jammu 3-1; and Baramulla defeated Kulgam 4-0.
The ongoing tournament is providing young players from across Jammu and Kashmir an opportunity to compete at a higher level and gain valuable experience, while also contributing towards the promotion of football and sporting culture among school-going children in the Union Territory.
