Warns of Dharna if issues remain unaddressed
KISHTWAR, Sep 29: BJP MLA Kishtwar, Shagun Parihar, today raised two critical public grievances on the floor of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly—the long-pending road connectivity to Village Kuntwara and the deepening drinking-water crisis across Kishtwar district.
Highlighting the plight of residents in far-flung areas, the MLA underscored that Kuntwara remains virtually cut off due to the absence of an approved and functional road link, forcing villagers to undertake arduous treks to access basic services, healthcare, and markets. She recalled that the issue has been raised repeatedly in the House and through written representations to the Government, yet no tangible approval or on-ground action has followed so far.
On the water front, MLA Parihar drew urgent attention to the acute scarcity of drinking water in Kishtwar town and surrounding areas, including Tunder (Dachan) and Saroor, where households continue to face severe hardship despite repeated assurances. She expressed serious concern over what she termed as the continued neglect of genuine public issues, despite her sustained interventions and follow-ups with concerned Ministers and departments.
Seeking immediate Government intervention, the MLA demanded concrete action on both the Kuntwara road and the water crisis before the next Assembly session. She further warned that, if these issues remain unresolved, she would be compelled to sit on a dharna outside the Chief Minister’s residence to seek justice and accountability for the people of her constituency.
