JAMMU, Sep 28: The Shiv Sena Dogra Front, led by its President Ashok Gupta, has demanded the establishment of dedicated Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra registration counters at Raghunath Bazar and another suitable location in the old Jammu City area for the convenience of pilgrims and local residents.
Ashok Gupta said that Raghunath Bazar and adjoining areas of the old city are important commercial and traditional centres of Jammu, attracting a steady flow of devotees, tourists and visitors throughout the year. He said that providing a registration facility in these areas would make the pilgrimage registration process more accessible to devotees visiting or staying in the old city.
According to the organisation, pilgrims currently have to travel to other locations for completing registration-related formalities, which can cause inconvenience, particularly to those unfamiliar with the city. The organisation said that dedicated counters at Raghunath Bazar and another suitable location in the old Jammu City would provide pilgrims with easier access to the required services.
Gupta appealed to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the concerned authorities to examine the demand and consider establishing registration counters at suitable locations. He said that such facilities would help streamline arrangements for pilgrims while also improving their overall experience in Jammu.
He further stated that facilitating pilgrimage-related services in the old city could contribute to the local tourism and pilgrimage economy by encouraging visitors to explore Jammu’s traditional markets, heritage areas and other attractions.
The Shiv Sena Dogra Front urged the authorities to consider the proposal at the earliest, keeping in view the convenience of pilgrims, local residents, traders and stakeholders associated with Jammu’s tourism sector.
Those present during the protest included Sushil, Kishore, Suresh, Sunil, Sandhya, Parvesh, Jagdish, Sham, Naresh, Abhishek and several other party workers.
