JAMMU Sep 27: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri on Sunday welcomed the unanimous clarification issued by Election Commission amid row over alleged with poll body.
In a statement issued here, Shastri said that collective statement issued by the chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar,with election commissioners sukhbir Singh Sandhu and vivek Joshi by his side, reaffirmed and integrity and credibility of our constitutional institutions.
Shastri said ECs clarification put to rest all misconceptions surrounding the commission.He hit out at alleged”attempt to undermine confidence in the country democratic framework and electoral process for short term political gains.He called such attempts deeply unfortunate.
Additionally, Shastri further said it is the collective responsibility of leaders across party line to up hold public confidence in the country democratic process. However Shastri said SIR was being conducted in a transparent manner.
