UDHAMPUR, Sep 8: Continuing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Talla Jewellers is advancing the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign under Project MAKE (Make All Kids Educated) in collaboration with its implementing partner, Live For Others – Being Helpful Foundation. With the support of the District Administration and education authorities, the initiative aims to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and encourage them to make healthy, informed and responsible choices.
As part of the ongoing campaign, awareness programmes were organised at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Chenani, where 15 educational kits were distributed and 350 students were sensitised. Another programme was conducted at GHSS Kud, where 16 educational kits were distributed and 350 students were sensitised. Together, the programmes resulted in the distribution of 31 educational kits and awareness among 700 students.
Kashish Gupta, CEO, Talla Jewellers, said, “Through our CSR initiatives, we are committed to creating awareness among young minds about the serious consequences of drug and substance abuse. We believe that education, awareness and positive engagement can empower students to make responsible choices. By reaching young people at the school level, we hope to contribute meaningfully towards building a healthier and drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.”
The awareness sessions were conducted by Vivek Parihar, Director & CEO, LFO-BHF, who interacted with the students and sensitised them about the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse. He encouraged students to focus on education, sports, discipline, healthy habits and other constructive activities, while emphasising the importance of staying away from substance abuse and choosing a positive path in life.
The programmes witnessed the presence of Aditya Singh, Diya, Kangan, Stuti, Prashant, Parnav, Arun, Mannat, Ruhani and Parul, along with other volunteers and members of the campaign team.
