KATHUA, Sep 1: The Inter-School District-Level Gatka Selection Trials, conducted on a trial-cum-selection basis for All Age Group (AAG) Girls, were held today at the Sports Stadium, Kathua, as per the Annual Sports Calendar of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Jammu & Kashmir.
The selection trials were conducted under the directions of the Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K UT, Smt. Anuradha Gupta, and under the guidance and supervision of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), Kathua, Sunil Kumar.
The event was organized under the supervision of Activity In-Charges Dharmander Singh Shally and Parveen Singh. The smooth conduct of the trials was supported by Sartaj Singh, Chanveer Singh and Manjeet Kour, along with the dedicated field staff.
A good number of young Gatka players from different schools of District Kathua participated in the selection trials. The players displayed commendable skill, enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the selection process.
The trials aimed at identifying talented Gatka players who would get an opportunity to represent District Kathua at higher-level competitions. The Department appreciated the efforts of all participating players, officials, Physical Education staff and field staff for ensuring the successful and smooth conduct of the selection trials.
