SRINAGAR, Sep 1 (Agencies): The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday cautioned the public against using apps operating under names such as “Night Play”, “Reloop”, “Kyss”, “Vimo”, “Rivo”, “Nexo” and “Vixa” along with similar variants, warning that such applications misuse accessibility permissions to take control of devices and potentially facilitate unauthorised financial transactions.
Police said the applications redirect users to websites that prompt them to download APK files from outside official app stores.
“Once installed, such apps may misuse Accessibility permissions, take control of the device and potentially enable unauthorised financial transactions,” Police stated.
“If you’re a victim of cybercrime, call on 1930 or report on,” Police added.
