R S PURA, Aug 29: Government Degree College (GDC) R.S. Pura celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit. The programme was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports to promote the importance of sports, fitness, discipline and teamwork among students.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal, Government Degree College R.S. Pura. However, due to her absence, Dr. Anupama Pandotra inaugurated the Table Tennis Intra-Mural Competition on her behalf.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anupama Pandotra highlighted the importance of regular participation in sports for maintaining physical fitness, developing confidence and nurturing qualities of discipline, leadership and teamwork among students.
The inauguration marked the beginning of the Table Tennis Intra-Mural Competition, in which students participated with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
The event provided students and staff with an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent and encouraged greater participation in physical activities.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports expressed its commitment to providing students with more opportunities to participate in sports and promoting a healthy and active campus environment.
The celebration concluded with a message that sports are not merely about winning medals, but about building character, resilience and a spirit of excellence.
