RAJOURI, Aug 21: 150 General Hospital Rajouri, in collaboration with the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) J&K, Government Medical College & Associated Hospital Rajouri and local schools, observed World Organ Donation Day 2026 through a series of awareness and academic activities aimed at promoting organ donation, dispelling myths and sensitising various sections of society about this noble cause.
The initiative reached out to school students, medical and nursing students, healthcare professionals and the local community through a range of activities including poster-making, slogan writing, essay competitions, debates, quizzes and symposia. The sessions highlighted the medical, ethical and legal aspects of organ donation and transplantation, while encouraging informed discussions and voluntary organ donation pledges.
The culmination programme was graced by the presence of a senior officer of the Indian Army, who appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders in spreading awareness about the life-saving potential of organ donation.
The observance reaffirmed the commitment of 150 General Hospital, Rajouri, towards community outreach and healthcare awareness, reinforcing the message that organ donation is not merely a medical act, but an enduring legacy of compassion where one life continues to give hope to another.
