REASI/POONCH, Aug 21: As part of its continued efforts towards youth empowerment and community development, the Indian Army organised educational awareness and personality development programmes at Makhidhar, Reasi and Sangiot, Poonch on 20 August 2026.
A lecture on the “Importance of Education” was conducted at Makhidhar, Reasi, aimed at sensitising students and local youth about the vital role of education in personal growth and nation-building. During the session, participants were educated about how education helps in developing knowledge, skills, discipline, confidence and responsible citizenship. The importance of pursuing higher education and effectively utilising available educational opportunities was also highlighted.
Similarly, a Personality Development Lecture was organised at Peer Mossa Academy, Sangiot, Poonch, focusing on essential life skills, social conduct and personal growth. Students were guided on the importance of maintaining cleanliness, respecting elders, developing positive behaviour and interacting confidently within society. Participants were also felicitated for their efforts and sweets were distributed on the occasion.
The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and youth, who appreciated the initiative undertaken by the Indian Army. The events reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment towards nurturing young minds, promoting education and strengthening its enduring bond with local communities in remote areas.
