EOW Jammu files Chargesheet against Sunderbani man for encroaching 2 kanal State Land

JAMMU, Aug 8 (Agencies): The Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Jammu on Saturday filed a chargesheet in the court of JMIC Sunderbani against a resident of Bhajwal for alleged encroachment of state land.

In a handout, the CBK said that the chargesheet was filed against Yash Paul, son of Kundan Lal and resident of Village Bhajwal, Sunderbani, for encroaching upon 2 Kanal 11 Marla of state land falling under Khasra Nos. 3913/3914 at Village Bhajwal.

As per officials, FIR No. 39/2022 was registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu on a written complaint lodged by Acharya Rajesh Kumar Prashar. The complainant had alleged that the accused, in connivance with revenue and forest officials, had encroached upon state and forest land.

During investigation, it was found that Mutation No. 4193 dated 05.09.2018 had been attested in violation of government orders. The mutation was subsequently declared null and void ab initio by the ADC, Sunderbani in December 2022 after quasi-judicial proceedings and was cancelled from revenue records.

Officials said demarcation of the land was carried out by a team of revenue officials in presence of forest officials. The demarcation report confirmed that the accused had encroached upon state land measuring 2 Kanal 11 Marla under Khasra No. 3913/3914 at Village Bhajwal, Sunderbani.

Based on the evidence collected, the allegations were substantiated and the investigation was concluded with the filing of the chargesheet before the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Sunderbani, along with the list of witnesses and seized documents.

Crime Branch EOW Jammu has advised the general public to remain vigilant against such economic frauds and to report any incident of encroachment or land fraud to SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu, reads the statement.
