JAMMU, Aug 6: Under the guidance of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College, Jammu, and the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Shalini Sharma and Dr. Amit Bali, the NSS Units of GGM Science College organized a Cleanliness Drive under the theme “Clean Campus, Green Campus” on the college campus today.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, NSS volunteers, and students, who actively engaged in cleaning various parts of the campus and spreading awareness about environmental conservation, sanitation, and responsible waste management. The initiative was organized to promote a culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship among the college community.
Leading from the front and addressing the participants, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta appreciated the wholehearted participation of the faculty and students and emphasized that cleanliness is a collective responsibility. He urged everyone to contribute towards maintaining a clean, green, and eco-friendly campus and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in building a healthy and sustainable society.
The NSS Programme Officers, Dr. Shalini Sharma and Dr. Amit Bali, commended the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the volunteers and faculty members. They encouraged students to actively participate in community service activities and to become catalysts for positive environmental change in society.
During the drive, participants cleaned academic blocks, lawns, pathways, gardens, and other common areas of the college campus. Faculty members joined hands with NSS volunteers and students, demonstrating their commitment to environmental awareness and civic responsibility.
The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to uphold the ideals of cleanliness and sustainability and to continue working towards the vision of a “Clean Campus, Green Campus.”
