SAMBA, Aug 3: Under the guidance of Principal Prof. Nirlape Kour, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Samba organised a Plantation Drive at Veer Vatika.
The programme was organised by NSS Programme Officer Dr Babita Kumari with the active participation of NSS volunteers.
The plantation drive was conducted to promote environmental conservation, enhance the green cover of the campus, and spread awareness about the importance of protecting nature. NSS volunteers enthusiastically planted saplings of different species and pledged to nurture and protect them.
Addressing the volunteers, Principal Prof. Nirlape Kour appreciated their efforts and encouraged them to actively participate in environmental conservation activities.
Prof. Babita Kumari, NSS Programme Officer, motivated the volunteers to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute towards building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.
The programme concluded with a pledge by the volunteers to safeguard nature and continue working for environmental protection. The plantation drive reflected the true spirit of the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” and inspired students to become responsible citizens committed to sustainable development.
